By Amazon Customer I knew what I was getting into (for the most part) when a book called "The Gettusburg Campaign" is so short, but even still, to have a book about GETTYSBURG and still spend half the literature on the battle at Brandy Station is a little unfortunate. For a novice or someone looking for extremely generic plot points, it's ok. An example of how simple this book is can be seen from how general the first day fighting was. It went from Ewell's division showing up straight to the disorderly retreat of the X1 corp. I would look elsewhere (such as Sears' book) for more comprehensive and informative reading.

Excellent Review of the Greatest Battle of the War Between the States, with Quality Photographs By Bill Anderson Length: 122 pages.Unlike most every book published by Charles River Editors, this is a detailed analysis of the most famous battle of the Civil War in America.Further, I believe this is more professionally edited than the majority of their books.I've read a good deal on the civil war, especially Gettysburg, so I can't say that I learned a great deal. Still, for most people, I think there is a wealth of knowledge to be gained from The Gettysburg Campaign.There is one point more: the photographs, then and now, help illustrate the story and bring it to life.
