Review Sue, you are brilliant. I loved your book! In combining your personal experiences with practical, hands-on applications, you teach us a very powerful way to sell ... by using both our heads and hearts to connect with people. Your warmth, humor and real-life insights allow us to relate your lessons to our own lives and businesses. You shine, Sue, and you are clearly helping others shine with your work! --Jill Blashack Strahan, Founder and CEO, Tastefully Simple and author of Simply Shine, Stories That Stirred The FireJust like any business, some days you wake up thinking --how did I get here? -- and at that time, Sue will be there to ignite your passion and inspire you to refocus on your goal. --Bonni Davis, former Vice President, Sales, lia sophiaSue, you are brilliant. Part of the reason I liked this book is because my own company, The Mind Aware ([...]), is all about easy-to-implement steps which help direct sales people and network marketers build million dollar businesses. Surprisingly, it's hard to find other people in the network marketing, direct sales industry who agree that simple is always best. Sue's book is the best possible representation of that principal. I actually bought the book on Sue's website ([...]) rather than on Amazon, but I still felt compelled to write about it here. Many people enter direct selling without any background in sales or marketing. Soon they find themselves trying to explain their products, but often worry about coming off as pushy. We all want to learn our craft when we enter a new business, but old school methods often leave us feeling slick or frankly, in some way, sneaky. On the other hand, Sue's book, appropriately titled Selling It Softly, gives us the opportunity to incorporate our own authenticity, while still making a profit. She elevates the humble task of selling to an art form. We're able to remain feeling honest and feeling like ourselves, while still getting the sale. Sue gives all of her soft selling techniques in story format, which make them easy to identify with and enjoyable to read. We feel like we're on a journey with Sue, buying her house, attending parties, and visiting with her children. And throughout these simple stories, she weaves the techniques which helped her to build her network marketing business. These ten simple stories suggest just saying things a little differently helps to close the sale . . . and I agree. This is my favorite aspect of the book. One of the foundations of our own teachings at The Mind Aware is that it's not necessary to add a bunch of new tasks to our already busy schedules in order to be successful in network marketing. As Sue explains in Selling It Softly, sometimes it's just a matter of changing what we're already doing ever so slightly. For some of us, the soft selling style comes naturally and reading the book will reinforce what we're already doing, but also give us a new way to teach our team members these valuable techniques. This book is the bridge between wanting more sales and getting more sales. On the other hand, for those of us who are timid, shy, or NOT natural-born salespeople . . . this book helps us to realize sales is not a dirty word. When we are selling our customers, we are helping them make educated choices. We are helping them to make decisions which benefit them. Sometimes we are actually helping them make decisions which change their lives. Sue's book can help us to convey that intention in a way which is simple and authentic. I can't say enough good things about Sue's book . A book which doesn't require us to fill out a new form or new questionnaire or take on an extra meeting. This entire book is about adding just a simple sentence or two . . . it --Dana Wilde, The Mind Aware

By Nancy Belda Sue's book, "Selling It Softly" is EXACTLY what every direct seller needs in their arsonal of advice, technique and training. With practical, insightful advice, Sue assures anyone who is in direct sales, or contemplating direct sales, that "service" is the number one priority. By offering specific word choices, Sue eliminates any need to wonder "how" to perform with exceptional effectiveness. This book should be "required reading" for anyone on a success path.

She had so many good things to say about it and how it's helped her business that I figured it was worth a shot if it could get me out of my rut.I'll tell you, I haven't been able to put it down! Sue makes everything so straightforward and EASY to incorporate into whatever product line you're direct selling. There's plenty of examples for different businesses, and I found myself adapting every example to my own products! My recommendation is to:1. Get this book! It's worth every penny.2. Set aside some time to read it all the way through at least once.3. Highlight, tab pages, and make notes as you go.4. Go back to your favorite parts and rework how you explain your products, business, etc. You'll be thanking Sue just like my Director is and like I will be once I turn her easy ideas into habit.
