About the Author Olaudah Equiano (1745-1797), also known as Gustavus Vassa, was a well-known African author and abolitionist. Born in what is now Nigeria, he was kidnapped at the age of 11 by slave traders and sold to British slavers. Later, he worked as a British naval officer, a merchant, and an explorer. He purchased his freedom in 1766.

Very Poorly read by one member of the team ruins effect By Bonita Evans The literature itself is excellent, but the reader of chapter two (the first female reader)sounds just like an elementary school child who has been taught to read as fast as possible in order to pass a state exam. Obviously she is exhibiting very little knowledge of the purpose of literature. As a result, many of the concepts and innuendoes are lost in this speed reading exercise. The young lady is more suited to narrate a horse race than a piece of literature. If you are a lover of literature, skip this one. Perhaps they will consider removing her chapter and editing it by having someone with reading skills read this portion of the book.Dr. B. Evans Ph.D.
