It starts well, with an excellent review of Norway's history, background, customs, and travel tips/recommendations.But I found the title to be misleading -- unless by "Norway", you are only interested in the area defined by Oslo, Bergen, Lillehammer. Apparently there's little see farther north. Not a word regarding Trondheim, for example. I had expected more, based on other ratings. The author's use of the word "Snapshot" should be taken literally... :(

While the book does not cover vast areas of the country, that is ok because it wasn't meant to, and does an excellent job of covering the most popular touring areas. I especially appreciated the sections on Oslo and Bergen as those are two of the key areas I am visiting. I had already done much of my trip planning and arrangements prior to acquiring this book and wish I had come across it prior to making some of those arrangements. There were several things I arranged that I would have done differently and better had I had the book at the time. My only gripe is I like good maps of an area when reading about it and making plans. The simple maps in the book are ok but could be better. If publishing details make that not possible, then at least include better and more detailed maps of the key tourist areas at the back of the book or an insert. I have been reading the book voraciously to get prepared for my trip and am 99% satisfied with it.
